This morning we were down stairs having breakfast and Bailey was still upstairs sleeping in…it is Saturday after all. Actually, everyday is Saturday for Bailey as he typically doesn’t get up till noon. When he’s finally ready to get up, I put his RuffWear harness on him and carry him down the stairs. Today we were pleasantly surprised when he decided to come down on his own. He came hopping into the kitchen with a huge smile on his face, very proud of his accomplishment! Navigating the steps was our 2nd biggest fear (the first was that he’d have a hard time figuring out how to go #2) and he has yet again put our worries to rest. He still prefers our help getting up the steps, however we are starting to make him go up on his own as part of his rehab. The incision is also looking good today and we are on schedule for our first trip to the B-E-A-C-H next weekend!
Yeah Bailey!! happy hoppy day! So proud of you sweet Bailey:)
It’s amazing isn’t it how they just decided when it’s time to just do something on their own. Love it!
Oh what fun the B-E-A-C-H! I think we might have to wait to go for a little bit, Rudy usually gets a little crazy at the beach running around! Do you have a beach near you?
Rudy says ‘woof rroooff!’
Fortunately we are only 5 minutes from the B-E-A-C-H in NJ although this is still a little further than Bailey would prefer to be!
Way to go BaileyButt! 🙂
Yipee! Those first few stair steps are a doozy but they’re nothing we can’t handle. My next move was the beach too. It made my Mom cry (in a good way) to see me running on the coast again. I know Bailey will tear up that sand and love it! Cheers to a great week ahead.
